Light-duty roadside assistance
Our services
Six things go wrong on Maine roads more than anything else. We carry the gear for all six, we quote before we leave, and we work any hour of any day.

Service one
Car lockouts
It happens to careful people all the time — the door shuts, the keys are on the seat, and the engine might still be running. We come out with proper lockout tools and open the vehicle without damaging the door, the frame or the weather seal.
- Damage-free entry on cars, trucks and most vans
- Fine at home, at work, in a parking lot or on the shoulder
- We stay until the vehicle starts and you're settled
- Bring your ID or registration — we confirm the car is yours

Service two
Flat tire changes
A blowout on I-295 is no place to be kneeling in the breakdown lane. We set up safely, get the vehicle on a jack, and put your spare on properly — torqued, seated and checked before you pull away.
- Your spare fitted and torqued to spec
- Flat loaded back in the vehicle for you
- An honest read on how far that spare will safely go
- Highway shoulders handled with lights and cones

Service three
Tire plugs
A screw or nail in the tread doesn't automatically mean a new tire. If the puncture is in a safe spot — not on the sidewall, not too close to the edge — we can often plug it right there on the roadside and have you back on the road in minutes.
- Quick, professional plug repair on safe punctures
- Cheaper and faster than a full tire swap when it qualifies
- We'll tell you honestly if a plug isn't the safe option
- Done at the roadside, at home, or in a lot

Service four
Battery jumpstarts
Maine winters are hard on batteries, and they almost always quit at the worst moment. We bring the power, get you turning over, and then tell you what we actually saw so you're not stuck again tomorrow.
- Safe jumps on modern electronics, not just clamps and hope
- A read on whether it's the battery, the terminals or the alternator
- Corroded terminals cleaned up while we're there
- We wait to be sure it stays running before we leave

Service five
Battery changes
Sometimes a jump just buys you a few miles before the battery gives out again. If yours is on its last legs, we'll find out exactly what your vehicle needs, give you price options, then bring the battery out and install it right there — old one taken away and disposed of properly.
- We find out exactly what battery your vehicle needs
- You get price options up front, before we head out
- We bring it to you and install it on the spot
- Old battery removed and disposed of properly
- Terminals cleaned and connections checked before we leave

Service six
Fuel delivery
Exits get thin north of Augusta and tanks run dry faster than the gauge admits. We bring enough fuel to get you moving again and point you at the closest open station.
- Enough gas to reach the nearest pump comfortably
- Diesel by request — mention it when you call
- Fuel poured safely, no spills on your paint
- Delivered roadside, at home or in a lot
Straight answers
How pricing works
Nobody should be negotiating on the side of a highway. Here's exactly how we handle it.
Quoted on the call
You hear the price before we leave the yard. If it doesn't work for you, no hard feelings and no charge.
Cards or cash
Pay whichever way is easier when you're stuck. Card payments are taken right at the vehicle.
No emergency markup
A 3am call costs what it costs. We don't price by how desperate the situation sounds.
Worth knowing
What we're built for
Crazy 8's is a light-duty roadside operation — lockouts, tires, tire plugs, jumpstarts, battery changes and fuel. If your situation needs something heavier, call anyway. We've been in this trade twelve years and we'll tell you straight whether we can help or point you to someone who can.
Still on the shoulder?
One call is all it takes. We answer around the clock, quote you the price up front, and head your way.
